Building trust between home and school.

Fostering strong relationships to support student success and well-being.

school based family liaison

Dedicated family liaison support in schools.

At FARE Scotland, our Family Liaison Officers (FLOs) play a vital role in primary and secondary schools – working closely with families to offer support, advice, and guidance when it’s needed most.

Whether it’s concerns about a child’s education, behaviour, or wellbeing, our FLOs are here to help. They build trusted relationships with families and offer a confidential, non-judgemental service that puts children and their families first. Support can take place at school or at home, and appointments are arranged at times that suit each family. While we don’t always have all the answers, we’re committed to helping families find the right path forward – together.

    • 1:1 support – tailored help for children and families

    • Reading groups – building confidence and literacy skills

    • Play skills groups – supporting social and emotional development

    • Thematic group work – focused sessions on communication, friendships, and more

    • P7 transitions – helping children prepare for the move to secondary school

    • Non-attendance support – working with families to improve school attendance

Our goal is to build strong, supportive relationships between home and school – because when families feel supported, children thrive.
