Supporting Families: Overcoming Barriers to Progression

Building brighter futures for families.

The FARE Family Employability Support Project, funded by Clyde Gateway and the Scottish Government, is part of Glasgow Futures Demonstration of Change. We take a whole-family, holistic approach to helping families move toward sustainable employment and long-term wellbeing.

Our mission is simple:

Eliminate child poverty by helping families increase income, remove barriers, and access real opportunities for growth.

As part of Glasgow Futures, we proudly follow the “No Wrong Door” approach — where every service is the right one, and every person is met with dignity, compassion, and solutions. Together with our partners, we break down barriers and build pathways that are person-led, honest, and empowering.

    ESOL Classes

    Delivered in partnership with Clyde College, offering Community ESOL classes for parents on our programme and the wider community. 

    These classes provide a clear pathway to college for many parents while also increasing opportunities for progression and social networks.

    Wellbeing Activities

    Non-certified, person-led sessions designed to boost confidence and mental health:

    Meditation
    Drumming for relaxation
    Creative exploration based on individual interests
    Empowering, inclusive, and responsive to group needs

    MARA Group

    In partnership with Church House and Glasgow Life, the MARA group offers a safe space for women to talk, build connection and gain peer support — children welcome!

    Community and School Engagement

    Based in the community in East End and the Gorbals and connecting with parents in these learning communities.
