Territorial History Project

altThe Territorial History Project is delivered to all primary 7 pupils with the greater Easterhouse area of Glasgow, to highlight the dangers of being involved in a gang and to tackle territorial issues.  The programme consists of a 1hr session per week for 8 weeks; the young people are shown various DVDs highlighting the dangers gang violence, and the choices they face along with the consequences of their actions and long term affects it has.  The project is in partnership with Strathclyde police force, Strathclyde fire & rescue services and the local housing organisation.  The young people participate in creative writing such as stories, poems and posters to deter young people into joining gangs, a visit to the police museum at Pitt Street, as well as participating in the fire reach programme to deter young people making hoax calls and the dangers of hydrant abuse and to help reduce attacks on the fire fighters.
