Residentials & trips
Residentials
FARE does various integrated residential courses each year, this involves young people from various areas of greater Easterhouse. Before going on a residential the young people will take part on a 6 week build up programme, each week being different activity. They will take part in the first 4 weeks of activities with young people from their area, while knowing the last 2 will be integrated with young people from other areas. At the residential they participate in various outward bound activities such as canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking and much more. These activities help the young to develop communication skills, improve self esteem, improve teamwork and independent living skills such as cooking and cleaning to making their own beds. A variety of team building activities, gang and territorial workshops take place on the residential to help break down the barriers that young people face. All residential courses are hosted out with their own areas and facilitated in neutral ground such as Loch Tay, Dimmingsdale near Alton Towers and Oban. For the younger age group P5-7 is slightly different as they have a packed fun week at a haven holiday park, usually in England or Wales.
Trips
Young people all also taken of a variety of trips to a places around Glasgow and further afield. These range from museums and art galleries to bowling or laser quest.
