Friday Night “Mer Tae Me” Project

The MTM PSD programme which last 15 weeks is aimed at young people involved or on the periphery of Gang violence and/or Anti-Social Behaviour.  This is a closed group as y/p are highlighted or referred by local housing offices or Strathclyde police. During the programme the group will take part in Gang, Anti-Social behaviour, Drug, Alcohol and Moral reasoning workshops. Dependant on the groups attendance and behaviour within the workshop they will attend a weekly diversionary activity to various places of their choice such as Go-Karting, Lazerquest, Paint balling, Cinema and Bowling. Depending on the groups age FARE will also offer support of CV writing, Interview techniques and job searching throughout the 15 weeks. Several groups  will also be put through there Bronze youth Achievement award which shows that they can set themselves challenges and carry them through to the end which can be applied to their CV’s.

The Friday night MTM is an integrated project where y/p from over 11 different areas will come together on a Friday evening within FARE’s building. Throughout the project young people are given the chance to be involved in various activities such as arts and crafts, team games, computing and theme nights. Friday night MTM is diverting y/p from gang violence, knife crime, drug & alcohol abuse and anti social behaviour and brining them together into a safe and fun environment.
