Bluevale Residents Hall Community Project
FARE and Playbusters worked in partnership with 16 young people from the local area to plan and implement a community project involving redecorating the Bluevale Residents Hall, Gallowgate. As part of the project the young people met with staff to decide what would make the hall a more inviting environment for people within the community. The young people volunteered their own time during the week and at weekends to clean and paint the rooms. They worked with a local graffiti artist to design murals for one of the main rooms and the corridor. They decided, as there were a variety of different ages using the facility that they would combine old and new ideas to make it an aesthetically inclusive environment. The young people were involved in conducting research and purchased new equipment to create the new theme.
